  • Overall, Days Gone is an enjoyable experience if you keep your expectations in check. It’s a solid port of a mostly ignored PlayStation 4 title due to a cluttered release window, and while it certainly won’t set the world on fire, it’s exactly what you’re looking for if you enjoyed single player experiences like the most recent Tomb Raider trilogy or The Last of Us.

  • Days Gone's PC port doesn't fix the game's generic premise or writing issues, but it does offer a slew of technical improvements that takes advantage of the PC's better hardware. Pair those with a compelling world and some great gameplay and you have an adventure that's better than it's often given credit for.

  • As the original review notes, Days Gone is a superficial experience. Despite telling a long, winding story, it is ultimately a game about Deacon riding his bike around Freaker-infested forests and clearing objectives.

  • Days Gone is a long and slow burn that is well worth it. It tells a relatable story that feels grounded, and the later stages have some truly memorable moments, both in terms of story and gameplay. With all previous DLC included, some nice improvements for PC gamers, and the capability to run at high frame rates, the PC iteration of Days Gone is the definitive version to play.

  • All in all, Days Gone is a solid PC port of a fantastic game from the previous console generation. With the enhanced graphical overhaul, it fixed the issues of the original PS4 version with solid overall performance. It’s made into a game we never expected to be this well-polished, plus the solid story and memorable characters, make the PC port of Days Gone the best version to play.

  • If you're not sick of long open-world games or stories about zombies, then you should be able to squeeze some enjoyment out of this. Days Gone might be a ride that goes on for too long, but it's a mostly worthwhile journey with a few good stops along the way.

  • Days Gone is a fun post-apocalyptic road trip simulator, but the things it does well are ultimately overwhelmed by the dreary story, repetitive missions, sluggish controls, and lifeless world. It's great seeing more PlayStation exclusives coming to PC, and long may that continue.

  • Days Gone has its high points and the open world looks better than ever, even if it is still filled with by-the-books gameplay systems and inconsistent execution.

  • As I said before, Days Gone feels like bad TV. It has no substance, but goddamn is it nice just to relax and follow along with the story and its hypnotizing gameplay loops. There are definitely better games out there, but without a doubt, Days Gone is a perfectly entertaining title to waste a week in.

  • The throughline in Days Gone is hope lost and hope clung to. For Deacon, it’s his often foolhardy search for his wife. For others, even lower portions of Maslow’s pyramid are crumbling, giving way to total hopelessness. Be it when you’re hiding in the grass as a horde passes by mere feet away, or when Deacon is desperately tracking down every false lead he believes will bring him to his partner, there’s just a flicker of hope that things will work out okay.
