  • Cut the Rope 2 seemingly manages the difficult art of being a sequel to a well received game that stands on its own feet without wrecking what worked to make the original popular in the first place. It’s a great time waster that reaffirms Zeptolab’s mindshare.

  • The graphic and sound design is superb, crisp and sweet as sugary treats. The best part: you can play absolutely, 100% for free. There are intermittent video ads to watch, but they honestly aren't such a big deal when you contrast them with the quality of game you get in return - and, if they bother you, a quick in-app purchase gets rid of them for good. Cut the Rope 2 is charming, addictive, and legitimately puzzling. It's a top-notch choice for casual puzzlers everywhere and of all ages.

Cut the Rope 2 may not be the longest sequel, but its new well-animated characters, clever levels, and overall quality had me playing and laughing gleefully all the way through. The additional missions also add a fantastic amount of replay value. Sure, there are more micro transactions this time around, but they're non-essential if you ignore them and helpful to those who need it. It’s just unfortunate that it isn’t long enough to make more use of some of its fresh -- and adorable -- ideas.

  • It’s only a small knock, though, because Cut the Rope 2 is an extremely fun, adorable, easy to learn, yet challenging game. With over 100 stages of fun, each lasting about a minute in length, Cut the Rope 2 is both good for quick bursts of gameplay or longer bouts on the go… until it’s time to pay, then only the most invested players will check back or pay.

  • The puzzles are incredibly clever and varied, Om Nom and his pals are as cute as ever, and players will absolutely get plenty of bang for their (single) buck. So long as one doesn’t mind “more of the same, only better,” there’s really no reason to miss out. It’s a little heavy-handed with some of the in-app purchase suggestions, but Cut the Rope 2 is still quite the delight.

  • Cut The Rope 2 is a great time waster, but in the best way possible. You can get lost in the number of hours you’ll spend trying to get enough points and stars for every little level that you swiftly go through. The cheerful little world of the game and the small obstacles you defeat in each level will keep you hooked. Welcome back, Om Nom! We’ve missed you!

  • Many rope-based physics puzzlers have hit the App Store since the introduction of the original Cut the Rope, but Cut the Rope 2 demonstrates Om Nom is still the top monster. He should prove to be good company if you don’t want to make extended eye contact with your relatives this holiday season.

  • Essentially, Cut the Rope 2 does the same thing the other sequels have done: given fans new levels to play and new ways to interact with the hungry little monster. It doesn’t feel revolutionary, but if you have room in your heart for more Om Nom, Cut the Rope 2 will suit you just fine.

  • Just like its predecessor, Cut the Rope 2 may sound easy but it gets increasingly harder as you plow through it, which will just make you want to play it more. It builds on the formula that made it such a successful puzzle franchise without completely reinventing or ignoring the core gameplay that makes it work. What's even more amazing about such a game is that it has a simple design that anyone can pick up and stick with even as new and exciting elements are added to it with each passing level.

  • Provided you're still excited by the physics-based fun exemplified by the Cut the Rope series, you should find Cut the Rope 2 an inventive and stimulating addendum to the franchise. There are enough fresh tweaks to warrant your interest, and, though it does tamper with fundamentals a little, it still retains its personality. How much further this series can develop remains to be seen. But, for the time being, Om Nom's sugar rush is set to continue.
