My daughter piqued my interest in this game when she was very close to getting grounded from her tablet rather than put it down for dinner. Her and her sister were passing it back and forth and …wait for it… actually getting along playing this game. This made me curious on what could create that type of world peace, so I checked it out after they went to bed. Four hours later and sitting there with my phone plugged in, I can see how this will be a perfect time waster.

It's fun fast-paced gameplay is a blast to pass the time while waiting in lines or just if you want to zone out for a while. However, if you're someone that needs some depth to be entertained you won't find it here.

It’s really quite compelling stuff. Frogger-like in nature, Crossy Road is an easy to recommend endless runner of sorts.

Second, because it uses mobile-native gestures (swipes). Third, because there's a wider variety of animals and randomly generated levels. Finally, because there's a social component: online leaderboards where users can submit their personal records. An original revision of classic featuring neat graphics and smooth controls. Highly recommended.

This is already the kind of game where I'm going back and forth with people for high scores, and sharing my high scores to Twitter. I've become absolutely hooked to this game, and I don't see that ending any time soon.

From little considerations like the squish that plays proxy for haptic feedback whenever your tap, to key decisions like the game’s nostalgia-inducing voxel aesthetic, Crossy Road oozes arcade charm.

It's simple, addictive, and loads of fun. Sort of a perfect storm of mobile game fundamentals. rossy Road might be based on an arcade classic, but it looks great and offers tons of replayability on top of simply being lots of fun.
