- Discover if Crisis Core Reunion is a worthy addition to your Final Fantasy VII collection on Nintendo Switch 2. Is it the definitive version?
Andrés Aquino · Oct 02, 2026 Reviewed onRead full review - Four years after its intial release, Nintendo's version of Crisis Core Reunion is brought in-line with the other consoles, but the lack of an upgrade path makes this release only worthwhile to total newcomers.
· Sep 16, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - For Switch 2 owners, this edition of Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII - Reunion is the perfect addition to Remake, Rebirth and Retribution, and I’d argue that it’s essential for fans that have yet to experience it.
Dom Leighton · Sep 14, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - Crisis Core Reunion is a wonderful upgrade to the original game that makes it better in some areas while showcasing some of its shortcomings at the same time. It is also weird to release a piece of this series on consoles that cannot continue the narrative unless they swap to another console.
Ken McKown · Jan 19, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is, without a doubt, a beautiful journey of heartbreak. The score is composed of old and new, profiting from having headphones firmly in your ear holes.
FerniWrites · Jan 03, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion is a fantastic game, provided you keep your expectations in check. The PSP design philosophy is noticeably present, so the game can’t be rightfully compared to its mainline Final Fantasy counterparts, and perhaps the game’s chapter- and mission-based structure doesn’t translate all that well to a home console experience.
SebastiaanRaats · Jan 01, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Reunion is a fantastic remastering that lets a new generation of players witness more of the stories within Midgar and allows for even more build up throughout the series as the next release looms ever closer.
Camrin Santchi · Dec 29, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a beautiful remake of a good-but-not-great game. Its structure is more well-suited for the platform it originated on, and several of the one-shot gameplay concepts it introduces don’t really land as well as they probably did in 2007.
CJ Andriessen · Dec 23, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The combat system is more refined and responsive, the visual upgrades are serviceable if not as extreme as some may hope, and the storyline is virtually unchanged – for better or worse.
Jason Fanelli · Dec 22, 2022 Reviewed onRead full review - Crisis Core FFVII Reunion is a great JRPG to end 2022. I highly recommend this game to many JRPG players who wish to start the FFVII series as it will let them know more about the game’s lore from the beginning to the end.
