- The Capcom Fighting Collection brings out some of the best and brightest from 90’s Capcom hay day. Back when they were the kings of the arcades, taking quarter after quarter from the youth. It’s a happier time best memorialized through a lot of the games in this collection. The sprite work and sound design is still as on point as we always remembered.
the NWR Staff · Aug 05, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The visuals, sound and gameplay mechanics across the board are still as beautiful and interestingly presented today as they ever were. Furthermore, Capcom Fighting Collection sets a firm reminder of classic Capcom’s creativity at its best.
Darren Palma · Jul 31, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Capcom Fighting Collection is a wonderful package with some truly great features and only a couple missed opportunities. It feels great to see Darkstalkers once again getting some air time, I just wish we would get a new game after nearly 30 years. The series was one of the best Capcom ever put out, and it shows with how many times that Morrigan sprite has been recycled. It is also cool to see rare games like Cyberbots and Red Earth discussed again. This collection is easy to recommend and I hope Capcom continues to recognize their legacy games going forward.
Ken McKown · Jul 13, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Overall, Capcom Fighting Collection is a very good compendium of classic Capcom fighting games. Acting as a primer for the Darkstalkers series but with plenty of options for other players, it's certainly an enjoyable title to pick away at. Meanwhile, the Switch version has the added bonus of its vital portability.
Rob Gordon · Jul 11, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Capcom Fighting Collection acts as a great companion piece to the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, bringing out all of the other non-licensed fighting games the company has done over the years to a variety of platforms. The overall selection is solid with a bevy of presentation options, while the extras feel comprehensive if you aren't looking for movies or the histories behind the games.
Cody Medellin · Jul 07, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Capcom Fighting Collection is a no-frills compilation of the pugilistic publisher’s secondary catalog, offering well-aged revisits to Darkstalkers, the gem fighter spin-offs, and some ambitious and intriguing experiments. Outside of its important job as an archival piece, it’s a somewhat barebones collection, hurt by lack of crossplay, and questionable existence given Capcom’s established range of compilations. Regardless, it remains a must-buy for all long-suffering Night Warriors.
Chris Moyse · Jul 05, 2022 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It may be preaching to the choir, but the Capcom Fighting Collection makes some much loved cult classic games broadly accessible on modern platforms, while being filled with goodies and extras for fans. That's good enough.
Pramath · Jul 01, 2022 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Capcom Fighting Collection sets the new standard all compilation games should be held to. There are a ton of games, though some may complain too many of them are Darkstalkers, accompanied by a suit of wonderful art and music. To top it all off is the fantastic online play and great visual and auditory presentation wrapping it up.
David Flynn · Jun 30, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - It may lack the name brands of other recent compilations, but Capcom Fighting Collection is up there with the best of the publisher’s output. Darkstalkers, with its fun mechanics and outlandish personality, is a franchise that deserves to find a wider audience.
Eric Hall · Jun 30, 2022 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - I love Capcom Fighting Collection. It pays respect to the company’s past, all while giving players a brand new (and refined) way to play some of the best fighting and puzzle games of all time, complete in one, smooth-as-silk, pristinley remastered package. Its online play is reliable, its presentation is sublime, and its extras are satisfactory.
