  • Overall, the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle is a great collection of arcade games tied together in a neat package for modern audiences. Though not every game brings something necessarily new or unique, there is definitely something in here for every beat ’em up fan. With multiplayer and save states, this bundle brings all the aspects of modern age gaming to these arcades that will keep you and your friends coming back over and over again.

  • While Capcom Beat’Em Up Bundle does have some online multiplayer issues it’s still a ton of fun overall. These are some great games for fans of retro games or the beat’em up genre and it will probably cost you less to purchase the whole collection would cost to beat using quarters in an arcade, and you still own them after you beat them, so that’s a plus as well. Here’s to hoping they’re saving some of the titles missing from this collection for volume two.

  • The Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle offers seven good (if repetitive) games for a great price. There's zero excuse for a 30-year-old game having terrible online in 2018, which is a huge minus here. But for those who fancy a violent trip down memory lane, especially with local buddies to watch their back, The Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle still provides simple-minded mayhem for not a lot of coin. Besides, you probably spent more than that on those money-hungry arcade cabs anyway.

  • The Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle is another welcome feather in the cap that is their redemption arc that we’ve been seeing in 2018, and if you’re dying to knock heads with Mayor Haggar or rack up some coin with the crew of Battle Circuit, this is an excellent reminder of why Capcom did so much for this genre. Here’s to hoping we’ll see another collection that features some notable missing names, like The Punisher or Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. 2018 Capcom, please keep it up. We like you a lot.

  • The titles themselves are solid choices as any fan of beat ’em ups from the ’80s and ’90s can attest, but missing titles like Alien vs. Predator, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, The Punisher and the other titles mentioned above prevent this from being the definitive collection. Missteps aside, the quality of the seven games that are included make this a worthwhile acquisition for fans of the genre.

  • It can be hard sometimes to make collections for retro games feel exciting, especially if those games have been released numerous times before. Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle bucks that trend not only by having games that are still enjoyable to this day, but also by including two titles that are finally being released on consoles for the first time. A few issues mars the overall package, but not enough to put a major damper on its offerings.

Still it is impossible not to recommend Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle. There is so much joy packed in this compilation. The genre has definitely seen a resurgence as of late, but it is impossible to deny how good these classics are. If only Capcom had been able to figure out the licenses behind some of their more popular titles like Alien vs. Predator. Perhaps in the future, but for now this is the best place to perform jump kicks anywhere.

  • In all honesty, I wouldn’t have finished any of these were it not for the unlimited lives, but because of those, I got to appreciate the games more than would have ever been possible in arcades. All in all, I had a blast sitting on the couch, chatting with my girlfriend, drinking beers while we beat things up.

  • You don’t get any visual filters. There aren’t game specific challenges to conquer. Hell, even the achievements are just for finishing each game. This makes the compilation strictly for those already interested in beat em ups and arcade game history. While it might not convert anyone to this style of game, it’s a great thing to have on modern consoles. Now, someone get a lawyer on the phone about re-upping that Cadillacs and Dinosaurs IP…

  • If you have fond memories of the arcade originals, you've probably already bought the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle. If you haven't, then you most definitely should. For the money, Capcom Beat 'Em Bundle offers a nice little slice of arcade history in seven games, two of which you can play on console for the first time. What's not to like?
