- Overall, if you like Overcooked! and are looking for more of the same that isn’t cheap and nasty like the several other options currently available on the store, Cannibal Cuisine isn’t a bad shout. It’s not overly priced, it’s got a fair challenge to keep you going for a while and the co-op play is seamless. Sure, meal variety could have been a little more exciting but for what it is, it’s not a bad effort and will certainly do the job until we hear from Overcooked! 3 at some point.
Carlos Santuana · Jan 25, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The concept for Cannibal Cuisine is fine: a grotesque spin on the Overcooked formula with some quality of life changes. However, there are enough issues here to sap away any enjoyment from the concept, especially if this is your first exposure to this type of party game. Unless you're a veteran of these games and want to deal with the artificial challenge, it'd be best to leave this one alone and opt for the more polished titles in the genre.
Cody Medellin · Jul 31, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The design of the stages does no favors for the game’s controls either, and so you’re likely to spend a fair amount of time waiting to respawn or waiting for your teammates to slowly wind their way around obstacles. Cannibal Cuisine is worth a pick up if you’re looking for more Overcooked but with a twist. Just be prepared to pick a few human hairs out of this soup.
Jordan Rudek · Jun 01, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Cannibal Cuisine is a short but savory treat for those looking for a decent Overcooked-like experience, but still with its own twists. The game still has a few flaws that take away some of the fun, but the development team is clearly still investing time upgrading the current build. If you’re looking for a proper party experience, Cannibal Cuisine offers a fun experience, albeit a reasonably short one. We reckon the original higher difficulty was set in place for the lack of content, but even so, getting three stars on all levels will certainly take you quite some time to achieve.
Ibuki · May 26, 2020 Reviewed on PC, SwitchRead full review - Although I’m not the biggest fan of online multiplayer, it is still something that feels like Cannibal Cuisine is missing. It would be interesting to see even just an online leadership board to compare your team to others online. Aside from that, there’s not too much to complain about. Cannibal Cuisine is a game I had my doubts about. Within a few levels, I was enjoying my time playing as long as players can swallow the idea of cannibalism for their next game night.
Heath Shusterman-Zimmerman · May 20, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - If you’re a fan of the likes of Overcooked and you’re looking for a new title to spice up your games night, Cannibal Cuisine is certainly worth your time. Despite its familiar aspects, it adds a little of something new to the formula via its darkly funny theme. It’s not as polished or as packed with content as the genre leaders but it’s still a dish worth tucking into.
Sean Davies · Feb 05, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Despite borrowing heavily from Overcooked!, Cannibal Cuisine strikes more of a party game tone, with mixed results. The gameplay lacks finesse, and despite providing a few laughs with friends, you’ll find it difficult not to revert back to the inspirational rival.
Darren Edwards · Jan 24, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Cannibal Cuisine is an entertaining game and great fun if you’re of the right mindset, but its bugs spoil the party and the niche appeal leaves it difficult to recommend for widespread consumption. Not one for the family dinner table.
Bobby Jack · May 19, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - With a concept that’s insensitive at best, Cannibal Cuisine has a rough first impression to overcome. The mechanics that are under it are fine, but the controls can feel too slippery for their own good. Add that with an average combat system and you’ve got a game that never shines beyond its sensationalistic pitch. If your mates crave some co-op chaos, there are far worse games to play. However, there are also far better games out there.
Gavin Herman · May 19, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Cannibal Cuisine takes its inspiration from the likes of Overcooked!, providing team-building frustrating fun as you and your pals work together to feed the Island God, Hoochooboo. Similar to the Overcooked! games, you’ll need to create the right dish for the God, picking the right ingredients, cooking them to perfection and avoiding obstacles which get increasingly harder to combat. Cannibal Cuisine comes with a whole side-dish of tasty gameplay though, as it introduces special abilities and – oh yeah – a whole load of cannibalism.
