    Graphics are retro, dialogue is goofy, and the strategic precision is just what it should be. It's not a super rich and engaging game, but it's a spectacular mathy twist for fans of the genre.

    Even with that occasional annoyance, Calculords is definitely still worth playing. It's a true testament to my enjoyment of the game that I kept at it, grinding my way through old battles time after time and coming up with new strategies along the way. The retro-centric charming visuals certainly don't hurt matters either if you're a fan of the style.

    Calculords certainly isn’t on par with my nostalgia for Math Blaster. As a fun, charming, respectable little card game, however, it’s equal to or greater than the money you can put into it.

    Overall, Calculords is a fantastic CCG. Its mechanics alone make it worth checking out but the game's trappings kept me coming back, even after suffering a frustrating defeat. Although it may take a while for players to get a hold of, Calculords is free so it it worth the download. If players like it enough, they can make a one time purchase to clear it of ads and earn some extra in-game benefits.

    It's a unique twist on a familiar idea - it does make the whole back-and-forth card battling concept far more interesting, however. Throw in that it's free and the in-app purchases aren't the epitome of slapping your mother in the face, and Calculords is one of those games that restores your faith in mobile titles. If the likes of Candy Crush makes you want to kill yourself...
