  • The trouble with Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is it’s got a list of negatives which can stand just as tall as the positives. For all its cockiness the humour is one-dimensional, the visuals bland and the campaign short. In 2017 it really doesn’t hold up too well. Whisper it, but a Painkiller remake would have made for a far more enjoyable time.

  • Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a fun violent prance through fields of f-bombs and shooting dudes in the crotch that still makes me upset that there isn’t a Bulletstorm 2 in the works. If you’ve never played Bulletstorm then the Full Clip Edition is definitely worth a look when if you want your shooters to contain challenging, yet rewarding gunplay whose story is simple, silly and completely out its mind.

  • The remaster itself, tragically, is really quite good. It runs beautifully in 4K at a smooth 60 frames-per-second, with characters and environments that still look striking today. Aside from some occasionally buggy ally A.I., it’s polished up nicely, and I wish I could say it was worth rushing out to buy.

Remasters are part of this generation whether we like them or not. Bulletstorm is a game perfect for this trend as a lot of players likely missed it the first time around. The addition of Duke Nukem and all the DLC is nice, but the sticker shock is real. This is the kind of game that would have done much better with just a little lower price of entry.

  • Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a blast from the past in some amazing and awful ways. Despite a horrific ending sequence, the gunplay, graphics and frame rates are enthralling even compared to current FPS games — an easy recommendation for those who missed out the first time. You will just find yourself wishing People Can Fly polished up some more archaic points of the game that drag down the experience.

  • It brings one of the most underappreciated gems of the last generation up to date for a whole new legion of players to discover and enjoy, and though it’s now six years old, the gameplay hasn’t aged one bit. If you like your games to be full of crass humour and violently creative action, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is absolutely essential.

  • I can’t recommend Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition enough. I’m not sure if this is a game you would go back to if you’ve already played it back in 2011, but I can see myself firing up The Full Clip Edition every now and again. The action is heavy and satisfying, the dick jokes are aplenty, and the reward system had me running from one battle to the next to discover how creative I could be. I wish I didn’t pass this up in 2011 because I really feel that I missed out on something special. I’m anxiously waiting for the online multiplayer to open up since as of this writing I couldn’t find any matches. If Bulletstorm flew under your radar before, don’t let it happen again.

  • Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition has a solid eight-hour campaign that is still one of the best offered in an FPS even five years later. Sadly, the other modes don't hold up very well and the new Duke Nukem stuff is ultimately a bust. Still, if you haven't played Bulletstorm, this is a great opportunity to do so.

  • Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a great experience for mature FPS players and is sure to delight. Non-stop, high-octane combat, colorful characters, and slick graphics make it an experience that gore loving gamers can definitely get behind. It carries plenty of co-op multiplayer options, a highly replayable campaign, and some fantastically slick graphical improvements. Adding the Duke Nukem DLC is icing on the cake to what is already a stellar experience.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a great-looking remaster of a still fun, ridiculously over-the-top shooter from last generation that pokes fun at the genre while introducing its own distinctively violent, melee-heavy playstyle. On the other hand, it’s almost completely devoid of new content, which makes it less attractive for returning fans who were hoping for anything more than a facelift.
