  • I must confess that I was mainly intrigued by Bullet Witch because I expected a funny trash game. In that regard, I was met with disappointment. Don’t get me wrong, Bullet Witch is not good and it aged prematurely, but it’s not trashy enough to add that comical factor. Beneath the mediocrity, some heart and soul went into the creation.

  • If you liked the original Bullet Witch and your copy, along with your Xbox, was destroyed in some kind of tragic accident leaving you only with your PC, then I would recommend buying Bullet Witch. Otherwise, I don’t think you’ll be getting anything new. Also, can we all just agree that random NPC dialogue adds nothing to games? The highlights in this game were a Sauron-Mouth declaring “I’m about to die,” after Alicia shot him down and a random guy screaming “Damn, they’ve found us,” after wandering in the middle of the road surrounded by enemies!

  • Bullet Witch has some promise and some really great ideas behind it, however, the execution itself is incredibly sub par. The destructible environments certainly added more action and when using the gun rod becomes too boring, the magic system is adequate enough to keep you going through the game.

  • I am not going to try to sugarcoat it: Bullet Witch isn’t exactly a very good game, but I still managed to enjoy it a lot more than expected due to how cheesy and over-the-top it can be at times. It’s a simple shooter that manages to provide dumb fun in decent quantities, if you can overlook how poorly it aged in the visual and sound departments. Bayonetta‘s neglected older sister might not be as endearing, but she’s not one to be completely ignored.

  • So, Bullet Witch on PC is little more than it was all those years ago on Xbox 360; an adequate third person shooter with some good ideas but flawed execution. Here, it's bundled with all the additional missions and content that arrived post-launch and has better performance, but it's undoubtedly dated.

  • One you have access to varied firepower and magic, Bullet Witch is a thoroughly playable third-person-adventure game, set in a world bound to appeal to many, but rarely touched on by recent releases. It is unforgivable that a game should take three or four of your precious hours to get up to speed, but if that is something you can bear, then Alicia and the game she inhabits might be just what you're after.

  • Bullet Witch has a certain charm, but it has several warts too, and they’re in pretty noticeable places. Wielding the game’s powerful spells can be a lot of fun, but the repetitive shooting and tedious trekking from barrier to barrier make you feel like you’re paying penance for someone else’s crimes. If you’re in the mood for some mindless action you’ll get some enjoyment out of the game, but loving this witch isn’t easy.

  • So true, so poignant. And so ends the saga of Bullet Witch. If only you hadn’t of come… out so soon. The developers needed more time to stroke you tenderly. Now you’re forever condemned to being on the verge of boo-yah.

Sure, the graphics are in a high resolution and you get achievements for beating the game, but other than that there is little to make Bullet Witch feel current. The AI is atrocious, collision detection is hit or miss, and the gameplay tends towards the frustrating side of the spectrum all too often. Even if you can overlook these problems, Bullet Witch is short and shallow enough to grow stale quickly.

  • Despite a few neat gameplay touches Bullet Witch ultimately fails to impress and this remaster only goes to show that this game should have stayed in the past. What could have been an interesting third-person shooter is let down at almost every point by frustrating game design and bland level design.
