- Broken Pieces is your ticket to nostalgia if you like the classic survival horror formula. The gameplay is fun and comes with a boatload of puzzles to keep you entertained throughout the story. While initially everything begins rather vague, the story will eventually grasp you and keep you in its grip until you have finished the game. The graphics are of decent quality and it is only a bit sad that our character is not visibly speaking (or she is talking in her mind, which is possible).
MC_JP · Dec 11, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The mixture of exploration and puzzle solving is solid but the unsettling weirdness of its location and story is what makes Broken Pieces a must play for all point and clickers out there.
AJ Small · Dec 01, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Broken Pieces is a creative game with a plot containing a variety of puzzles, decent exploration, and questionable combat. Being the only character in the entire game, it can get rather lonely. However, that adds to the overall experience of being, well, all alone. Although this was under the psychological thriller genre, it was neither psychological nor thrilling – but it was unique. It may not be as mind-provoking as expected, but it had an intriguing story and a fairly smart protagonist, even if she was a terrible shot.
Stephanie Sung · Nov 05, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Broken Pieces is an odd, disjointed game with unnecessary combat, tedious back-and-forth exploration, and frustrating puzzle designs.
Audra Bowling · Oct 13, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Broken Pieces shows that a small team can deliver an engaging, tight experience but the game needs better integration between its narrative and gameplay.
Cosmin Vasile · Sep 26, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Broken Pieces has a narrative that entices players to solve the mysteries of Saint-Exil and the cult that has taken residence. While simple combat might make the title a slower play for most, anyone who loves puzzles and riddles will enjoy their time in Saint-Exil and want more.
Nathan Mejia · Sep 12, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The combat might be pointless, but the puzzles are mostly satisfactory, the level design is memorable and offers a believable sense of place, and, again, the graphics are quite lovely especially considering the size of the team that made the game.
Andrew Farrell · Sep 08, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - It may be something of a marmite genre, but Broken Pieces tells a story worth hearing, despite its elements not quite fitting together perfectly. Broken Pieces is available on the Xbox Store
Darren Edwards · Nov 18, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The premise, visuals and soundtrack are all interesting and make a great first impression. The execution of everything else however is a bit rough around the edges. With questionable combat elements, convoluted puzzle mechanics and a story that feels incomplete, Broken Pieces feels a little too much like its title.
