- That simplicity and open-endedness of Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead are what contribute to the game's overall brilliance and insanity-inducing properties. While the title has some frustrating controls at times, it's still straightforward: Get your guys from point A to B, essentially. The fact that each level is a little minigame, which leaves you the option to spend hours at a time with it, grants some control over how much effort you put into the game. Overall, this is a well-made title and an excellent addition to the Bridge Constructor franchise.
Lauren Hall · Mar 03, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - While there were some complaints over controls, once we found a rhythm with the touchscreen and got into the game properly, hours just started to pass. Food went cold, text messages were missed and limbs went to sleep. It was a genuinely engaging and enjoyable experience, with moments of frustration from the performance quickly becoming purely about the challenge and that ONE STRUT NOT HOLDING!!!!!!
Jayderlee · Dec 11, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - For such an unlikely pairing, Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead manages to combine the zombie apocalypse and structural engineering well. An in-game hint system wouldn’t have gone amiss, and it can be a bit fiddly to place things at times, but overall if you’re after a challenging puzzle game – and enjoy the TV show – then this is a great pick up.
Jamie Collyer · Dec 02, 2020 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead is pretty great. The bridge-building is challenging and the Walker element adds a very Angry Birds style gameplay element. For its low price point of 9.99, you really cannot beat that level of entertainment.
Christian Angeles · Nov 24, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead is way more than just a bridge-building game with zombies in the background, and for that it deserves praise. Unfortunately though, the creative challenges it serves up require a ton of experience, patience, and sometimes both, and I wish the game did a little more to help you out than it does.
Campbell Bird · Nov 23, 2020 Reviewed onRead full review - The other problem is that we aren't that far removed from The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, a much more satisfying experience that feels like what all VR games should aspire to. This probably would have gotten a higher recommendation if the release dates were reversed, but as it stands now, this is more for the TV show fan who wants a fun diversion, as long as they're willing to accept some big issues; this isn't suited for someone who's looking for the next big VR milestone title.
Cody Medellin · Oct 13, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead franchise and hunger for more zombie killing, the missions, gameplay and story in The Walking Dead Onslaught are not bad. But if you’re looking for something deeper to sink your teeth into, stick with Saints and Sinners.
Patrick Anderson · Oct 09, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The Walking Dead Onslaught is a serviceable enough Walking Dead VR game if it piques your interest, but its hard for me to recommend. While the ties to the AMC series are fun and interesting, Saints & Sinners is simply a better game. I traditionally don’t like comparisons in reviews, but the release dates, themes, and mechanics of these two are just too close to ignore.
Chandler Wood · Oct 01, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - All in all, The Walking Dead: Onslaught is an immensely dull power fantasy. The environments are bland and repetitive, the level design is linear and uninspired, and the story isn’t all that engaging. Still, there’s an inherent joy to slaughtering hordes of walkers without having to worry too much about weapon degradation or ammo, but the excitement wears thin after an hour or two.
Diego Perez · Sep 29, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - If all you're looking for is some bridge construction with a zombie theme, then Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead comes with enough new mechanics to keep you interested for a while. If you're just here because you love the Walking Dead, however, then I'm afraid this probably isn't for you, as it offers little value from that standpoint.
