  I might be sad that a new The Getaway had to be cancelled in order for this game to be released, but I’m equally glad to see that the return of one of my favorite underrated franchises of all time was sacrificed for an important title that shows what can be done with virtual reality technology when you put competent developers in charge of the project.

  In my opinion, there are only a handful of games that can be categorised as a system seller for Sony’s headset; something that would make it worthwhile laying down the cost of VR. Games like Beat Saber and Astro Bot have proven themselves at making VR work in its own right, and now you can add Blood & Truth to that list. And if you already own a PSVR you would be doing yourself a disservice by not going out and picking this game up.

  Blood and Truth is a great VR game and is a must-have for every PS VR owner. You don’t actually have to like shooters to enjoy Blood and Truth, it does a fantastic job telling a story and making it feel like more than just “a shooter”. The comfortable mode in the game also helps a lot against being sick too fast. Like any game and certainly VR games, it is still recommended to take a break regularly though. With the great input of the move controllers and the good graphics, Blood and Truth is another superb addition to the top VR games.

  Blood & Truth is the VR action game I’ve been dreaming about since the PSVR was announced. Other games have come close to this level of realism and immersion, but there was always something holding them back. London Studios went all in while creating this one, and I thank them every day for it — I finally get to experience my dream of living an action movie.

  Once the credits roll, you truly get a sensation of closing out the thrilling finale of an action movie. There are very few parts of Blood & Truth that left me wanting. Some mechanics feel a bit underdeveloped, and the dialogue isn’t always the best. But none of it affected my overall experience with the game. It’s a white knuckle thrill ride with over-the-top action that will keep you hooked from start to finish. If you want a compelling reason to pick up your PSVR headset again, let Blood & Truth be it.

  Blood and Truth is uneven, especially when it's determined to get you to focus on an uninteresting story while you're putting up with the shortcomings of VR. But the beauty of Blood and Truth is that it also does marvelous things with the platform. The addition of motion control make familiar and mundane mechanics engaging, while also breaking up the smartly designed first-person shooting and establishing a great rhythm to the six-or-so-hour campaign. Blood and Truth doesn't manage to stick the landing in all aspects, but it's definitely a step forward for PSVR shooters.

  Blood & Truth’s intense shooting action made me feel as cool as its characters, immersing me in its world even as its limited movement did its best to remind me I wasn’t in full control. Yes, it traffics in heist movie tropes, but it’s got a strong cast that pulled me into and along its fairly predictable story that I came to be invested in quite quickly. Some levels have multiple paths to encourage replayability, along with collectibles and time-attack challenges, but the sheer joy Blood & Truth left me with on the first playthrough was incentive enough to replay it alone.
