- Less focused than the original. Intel harvesting slow and clunky
OXM Staff · Mar 06, 2011 Reviewed on X360 - That says it all, really. The first Rearmed didn't have much competition, but it still stood out as a quality release; by contrast, this sequel feels overshadowed by the stronger experiences that the LIVE Marketplace and PSN have to offer. Even so, if you're hungry for an old-fashioned platformer, one with a tongue in its cheek and a spring in its step, you could do far worse.
Neon Kelly · Feb 10, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - This version of Bionic Commando feels more like Bipolar Commando in that it doesn’t know what type of game it wants to be
Matt Swider · Feb 08, 2011 Reviewed on PS3 - Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 is not a bad game, but it's a huge swing away from the first Rearmed, which was a masterpiece. What was once a platformer in a class of its own is now just another platformer. Jumping adds nothing to Bionic Commando. I guess it's true: you really can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Daemon Hatfield · Feb 07, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - When you're swinging and jumping around, it's grand. But BCR2 grinds to a halt too frequently, making parts of it more frustrating and disappointing than they needed to be.
Jeff Gerstmann · Feb 07, 2011 Reviewed on PS3, X360Read full review - Overall, I didn’t like this as much as the first game, but there’s still plenty worth checking out when you get around to it. Rearmed 2 isn’t a “must-play instantly” game by any means, but it still ranks above Spencer’s awful console reboot.
Bryan Vore · Feb 03, 2011 Reviewed on PS3, X360 - The shading, animation and design of everything is more interesting, the levels really push you to use the arm and the bosses require some intense concentration to best. Rearmed 2 never really pulls it all together like that.
Brett Elston · Feb 03, 2011 Reviewed on PS3, X360Read full review - Problems flow freely from just about every orifice, so be prepared for punishing setbacks that are out of your hands if you want to venture through the latest entry in this venerable franchise. It's funny that a little thing like jumping is the root of so many problems, but when one of the most basic elements of gaming is so poorly implemented, it makes sense that problems would persist in so many other areas.
Tom Mc Shea · Feb 03, 2011 Reviewed on PS3, X360Read full review - It also benefits from the sort of incremental improvements you'd come to expect from a sequel--the swinging mechanics feel are a bit more elegant this time around, and the graphics plain look better
Game Trailers · Feb 02, 2011 Reviewed on X360 - Fans of the Rearmed will find there’s a lot to love about the follow up, despite a few shortcomings. Because it’s ultimately not as impressive as the original, that doesn’t mean Bionic Commando Rearmed 2’s not worth checking out.
