  • It's a slow-burn enjoyment, immediately beloved by fans of the genre, although perhaps a little inaccessible for today's twitchy audience. That's okay. I'm happy games like Bik - A Space Adventure have carved out a little niche for themselves on mobile alongside the Candy Crushers, too.

  • Bik clocks in at about 10 hours and this is a very reasonable length. The game is very dense and packed with things to do and see. It is also very cheap considering the quality and amount of gameplay on offer.Bik is a fantastic game that not only emulates classic adventure games, but improves on them and is a top notch game in its own right. Its excellent presentation and humour really are the icing on the cake.

  • It feels like the right length for the amount of story it aims to tell: much longer, and it would have meandered, and it would have felt rushed were it edited down. Just enough is left unresolved that a direct sequel would make sense, and I would love to see such a continuation, because I care about the protagonists of Bik, and I want to see them find a little more closure and a lot more adventure.

  • Bik has a few warts. The controls can be a bit fiddly at times, especially if a character is standing in front of an interactive object, and it’d be nice to tap and hold to move. And the saving and multitasking issues we experience on iOS are annoying. But nitpicks aside, Bik is otherwise a charming adventure game throwback and well worth a play for fans of the genre.

  • Bik is a rewarding experience if you're willing to put some time into it. But unless you're a point-and-click fan through and through you might find the whole thing a little daunting, and a little off-putting.

About the game

In Bik, we follow a young boy who is abducted by aliens while on a camping trip with his friends. After joining forces with two friendly alien mercenaries, Ammut and Tatenen, Bik escapes from his abductors and tries to find his way home. Along the way, Bik and his newfound friends outsmart hijackers, (eat some brownies), accept a perilous mission to find a missing alien, (make some sandwiches), foil a dastardly plot by an evil corporate empire, (argue with disgruntled robots), and save a planet on the brink of destruction.
