- Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain does have small hooks to make sure people come back day after day. I do however think the small number of minigames may be disappointing to some and I hope that maybe with a future update we see more added.
Anthony Mann · Dec 23, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Any time is big brain time with Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain. A welcome return to an unabashedly casual puzzle franchise, Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain provides addictingly simple multiplayer fun that players of all ages will struggle to put down. If you’ve ever been told that video games melt your brain, hand that joykill a joycon and challenge them to Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain — they’ll soon see the error of their ways.
Heather Johnson Yu · Dec 21, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - For a game with the subtitle Brain vs. Brain, the bare-bones multiplayer is a bit of a letdown. Surprisingly, the single-player is where Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain really shines due to the well-designed and thought-provoking activities and their replayability due to the Ghost times and desire to beat your own personal best scores as well.
Dean James · Dec 17, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is a solid single player experience that is a pleasure to return to, even on a day to day basis. It might not unlock and skyrocket your mind’s genius-o-mometer to heightened levels but is definitely an entertaining way to keep yourself sharp and less dreary. Where Brain vs. Brain truly shines compared to prior entries in the series is that the minigames feel lest like work and more accommodating and accessible overall, especially when playing with friends.
Garth Kaestner · Dec 15, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is evidence that there's still room in Nintendo's world for this series. I would have liked to see more than 20 mini-games and certainly would have liked to see more new ones, but what's on display serves as a fun refresher for veterans and a strong introduction to newcomers. The ghost system is a great feature, as is the ability to take on a friend with touch controls.
Ozzie Mejia · Dec 14, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Overall, Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is a fun way to exercise your mind, with short activities that keep you coming back for more. There’s little new content here, but it’s still enjoyable, especially for new audiences.
Jemma Casson · Dec 14, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is a fun way to exercise your brain regularly. The competition aspect keeps the game fun and engaging if the single player isn’t up to snuff.
David Flynn · Dec 14, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is a very amusing puzzle game that’s perfect for both single-player and multiplayer sessions. The latter can be enjoyed offline and online. We found ourselves going for ‘one more battle’ each time, allowing us to unlock new items and climb the online rankings. As a whole, the game might be light on content, but it’s heavy on the amount of fun the be had.
Ibuki · Dec 13, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is some of the most fun you can have with plain edutainment, as it cleverly hides its educational aspects under a layer of competitiveness and a cute but friendly presentation. It’s a bit expensive, and I think its amount of minigames is a bit subpar, but it’s a very enjoyable experience if you tackle it for around 10 minutes a day. Even if all you do is test your skills and brag about them with algorithm-generated avatars based on the personality of a 62 year old Japanese retiree via its oddly amusing multiplayer mode.
Leo Faria · Dec 12, 2021 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - If you’re looking for something the whole family can play, Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is a great option. It might lack some visual flair but it’s an entertaining way to test the old grey matter with the fun easily enhanced by playing alongside others.
