- With so many songs to choose from, and amazing music packs (many which I already purchased and enjoyed), it is a must have for any VR owner. Modular difficulties allowing even the least experienced can enjoy, allows for great movement to the beat especially in higher difficulty, and a beautiful backdrop/stage.
Krystle Lim · Jun 22, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Even with these setbacks, you still get a brutally exhausting, immensely fulfilling gameplay loop with masterfully charted songs. However, until those issues are fixed, what you have is merely an adequate port.
Graham Banas · May 31, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - A good session with Beat Saber literally leaves me breathless. When I’m in the groove, swinging red and blue sabers to precisely bisect an onslaught of incoming boxes as fast as I can might be as close to the feeling of being a Jedi at a rave as I’ll ever come. This challenging rhythm game is definitely a little light on tracks out of the box, but what’s there is both catchy and highly replayable due to the way its scoring system encourages pinpoint accuracy and followthrough, plus a handful of alternate modes to play them on.
Dan Stapleton · May 28, 2019 Reviewed onRead full review - Beat Saber is a thrilling rhythm game that makes ideal use of virtual reality to envelop you in an enthralling tour down the coloured highway, time after time. We suspect it’s the kind of game that will resonate with just about anyone, VR sceptic or not, and it’s an essential addition to any PlayStation VR owner's library.
Jacob Hull · Dec 13, 2018 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Beat Saber is a must-play for anyone interested in virtual reality, but not for the reasons we typically associate with the platform. It won’t make you crane your neck to take in the majesty of your surroundings, but Beat Saber uses VR to place you into the music and taps into your carnal desire to hit things with swords. Years into its life, the gaming public is still unsure of this new way to play video games, but Beat Saber has the potential to convince skeptics to take another look.
Kyle Hilliard · Dec 05, 2018 Reviewed on PS4 - Beat Saber is an exhilarating rush and an exhausting game to play in the best way. It has great music that is more varied than you might expect, complemented by smartly designed levels that marry their complex patterns perfectly to the beat. It's difficult to get bored of Beat Saber, especially thanks to its extensive campaign that pushes you to get better with each step up in difficulty.
Alessandro Barbosa · Nov 26, 2018 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Beat Saber is yet another PSVR game that continues the quality in what feels like the platform’s breakout year. It’s addictive and immersive, so much so that I am already thinking of how I should improve for my next run. If you wanted Guitar Hero but arguably even better, this is one beat that you won’t be able to resist.
Jimmy Donnellan · Nov 23, 2018 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Despite being exhausted, I found myself losing hours at a time to Beat Saber, replaying my favorite tracks to try and master them. Simple, fun, and addictive, Beat Saber has a hook that will immediately grab players and keep them engaged for a long time. Hopefully Beat Games continues to support the platform, adding to what I would consider an essential VR experience.
Chandler Wood · Nov 21, 2018 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Beat Saber on PSVR is exquisite. Overall it’s a more polished, feature-packed, and expanded version of the Early Access PC title, while still retaining the core of what made it a viral sensation in the first place. I rarely missed the better tracking afforded by the Rift, Vive, and Windows VR platforms and actually found myself enjoying the crisp visuals and appropriately shaped PS Move controllers throughout it all.
David Jagneaux · Nov 20, 2018 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - They weren’t made with the idea of room scale movement in mind. Beat Saber is more immersive and forces you to move within the virtual space rather than a static position. If you have a VR headset and enjoy rhythm games, Beat Saber is an easy recommendation. It’s easy to get into, and the latter difficulties provide a challenge even for seasoned rhythm game fans. I can comfortably say Beat Saber is the latest killer app for virtual reality headsets.
