  • Back To Bed is a unique, fun puzzle game with some minor platforming thrown into the mix. It's another great indie puzzle game for the Switch that plays well on the go. While it isn't overly challenging and won't take forever to get through, you will get your money's worth for the meagre price tag of $4.99. Back To Bed is definitely one that dreams are made of and has no gotchas that'll give you nightmares! Who knew a lack of sleep could be so fun?

  • While the game stands tall from a presentation aspect, where it lacks most is in the act of playing it. Puzzles offer some clever ideas, but they never truly explore how far each idea could be pushed which results in a simple game that never challenges the player. This might appeal to a casual puzzle fan, but it certainly won’t scratch the itch for veterans of the genre.

  • Ultimately, Back To Bed is just sorely missing content even at the already low purchase price. It’s a great idea with some fantastic art and a few really cool puzzles… but that’s it. If you enjoy puzzle games and like the aesthetic, then Back To Bed is still priced very well and worth your money. Not a lot of studios can really portray that surreal feeling, but Bedtime Digital absolutely has and their game stands out because of it. However if you’re looking for a difficult puzzler that will take you longer than an hour or two, keep looking.

  • Back to Bed is an audacious take on the puzzle platformer genre. Appealing graphics and a clever albeit mild story weren't enough to cover up the lack of truly inventive puzzles. It's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but its short duration and uneven difficulty doesn't match up with its unique world.

  • As a fan of art and games, I enjoyed my stint with Back to Bed. The conversion from mobile to console is perhaps only noticeable in its length, but the surreal art style wowed me, especially on a big screen. It is a tiny game with a unique, yet brief and understated impact.

  • While Back To Bed is not a terrible puzzler by any stretch of the imagination, it is terribly underwhelming. There is simply so much more that could have been done to really make this a gem. The stylish look of the game is superlative, but that is really all there is to it. Much like going on a date with an extremely attractive person and having the dinner conversation consist solely of the best way to pot a plant, the view is good but the mind languishes.

  • The graphics and sound design I found just lovely: artsy, detailed, and thoughtful. It's a clever little challenge for those who like their puzzles spanning multiple dimensions.

  • Back to Bed could have solved that puzzle behind the perfect puzzle game if only it had expanded upon the excellent mechanics it has. Inventive level design, challenging puzzles and an interesting art-style all work to make Back to Bed a truly enjoyable experience all be it a rather short one, but one still worth the small amount of time it will take to complete.

  • It currently stands as an enjoyable journey through impossible reality worlds inspired by some of the most popular surrealists. The lines are blurred between art and game. If you feel like being caught between worlds, this is the game to take the trip with.

  • And while it's quirky enough and strange enough to get into if you're looking for something off the beaten path, it's simply not that unique once you get past its weird veneer. Back to Bed is practically oozing with visual charm, but it can't back it up with weak gameplay and a lack of replay value. Perhaps the developers should have slept on it a bit longer.
