  • Wer mal wieder ein klassisches Assassin’s Creed erleben will, macht mit Mirage absolut nichts falsch. Nur die Bedienung war damals besser.

  • Ubisoft clearly tried to dial things back to appease fans of classic AC, with game design that compels actions more akin to an actual assassin, rather than a Viking or Spartan superhuman. But players looking for a true return to form may be disappointed, as Mirage stresses weightier combat and movement, as well as a relative lack of linearity.

  • It still looks and sounds good, and while those who loved the RPG-lite style that the game has morphed into will find themselves a little disappointed at the changes in Mirage, everyone else will be pleased at the return to the series' roots — even if it feels like it's missing some essentials.

  • Those looking for an experience like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla may be left disappointed, however. We feel as if the developers had a lot of good ideas for Mirage and taking the series back to its roots is certainly a great step in the right direction, but we missed a bit more depth.

  • It's clear that Mirage could have benefited from a bit more polish and attention to detail. If you're a fan of the series or enjoy stealth-focused games, Assassin's Creed Mirage might be worth your while, but go in knowing it's not flawless.

  • Not only does Assassin’s Creed Mirage makes Valhalla a thing of the past, but it is also the best in the franchise’s history. With many exciting techniques, including the new concentration mechanism, Ubisoft has precisely portrayed the most remarkable assassin.

  • In the end, Assassin's Creed Mirage is a great entry into the series, even with some of the baggage it inherits narratively from Valhalla. I can't wait to see how Ubisoft expands on Basim's journey in the entires to come.

  • If you’re a fan of old-school Assassin’s Creed, you’ll love what has come about in Mirage, what with the more compact story that is told. Others may still long for those previous hundred-hour adventures though…

  • If you love your yearly fix or want to return to the IP without having to invest 100 hours, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is easy to recommend. If, however, you’ve been desperately waiting for some evolution of the IP, you’re out of luck yet again.

  • Sure, overall the formula for the game is a collection of Ubisoft classics. But isn’t that what we’re here for at this point? Exploring a city, solving small puzzles, collecting stuff, and going stabby stabby while looking cool doing it. This is an Assassin’s Creed game, unapologetically, and it’s much better for it in my opinion. Here’s hoping Assassin’s Creed Red takes notes.
