- It's not as stable or bug-free as other games, but the worst issues have been taken care of, and there's nothing else even close to the scale of Arma on the market today. With a sandbox this big and dense, Arma 3 could keep me busy for years.
Charlie Hall · Aug 11, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - In any direction you go, there's loosely structured fun to be had. It's there where the islands Bohemia Interactive have created are put through their paces, stretched and warped by the collective whim of the internet, unconstrained by the expectations that burden the words "modern warfare."
Nick Capozzoli · Apr 04, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Arma III’s complexity is a double-edged sword. It takes a long time to comprehend, but once you’re comfortable enough with its mechanics to take advantage of them under pressure, you’re able to engage in a kind of large-scale tactical combat that’s simply not offered elsewhere.
Emanuel Maiberg · Sep 18, 2013 Reviewed on PCRead full review - ARMA III is a game with few modern counterparts. The influence of Operation Flashpoint isn't felt in many current games, even the modern OF, leaving the ARMA series to lead a charge accompanied by Red Orchestra, Iron Front, and too few others. With that uniqueness comes a dedicated community willing to overlook the flaws because they crave a kind of tension and large-scale teamwork unavailable anywhere else.
Kevin VanOrd · Sep 16, 2013 Reviewed on PCRead full review - A significant step forward for the king of military simulation offset by inconsistent graphical performance.
Evan Lahti · Sep 13, 2013 Reviewed on PCRead full review - ...like much of the game, complex and fiddly, demanding an understanding of scripting and triggers before even the simplest of missions begins to gel.
Edge Staff · Sep 12, 2013 Reviewed on PC - There's something about Bohemia's world-building that inspires people. Importantly though, Arma 3's vanilla content now stands on equal footing with those third-party inspirations. It's still a little rough around the edges, but it's a darned impressive package nonetheless.
Rick Lane · Mar 26, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - This is without a doubt Bohemia Interactive's finest hour and a very strong 8. It's a massive leap ahead for the series, but there is still room for a lot of improvement. If the upcoming campaign proves enjoyable and the worst performance issues are dealt with the score would likely be bumped up. It's a brave and ambitious game, that isn't only the best of its kind, but a nice change of pace when a lot of games start to like alike.
Simon Eriksson · Sep 21, 2013 Reviewed on PCRead full review - For now, I think it means you're better off sticking with Arma II. Underwater missions, accomplished vehicle physics, an impressive array of player stances and fantastic visuals can't make up for a too-big map full of nothing and a handful of missions most computers and servers can't fully handle. I'll tell you what though, Arma III is going to be a great game in 2015
