  • When it originally came out Arizona Sunshine was more interesting due to the lack of fully fledged VR games. However, we’ve seen several successful VR games that have accomplished way more than Arizona Sunshine. Even ignoring that, this is a poor port that suffers from both graphical and control issues. I don’t particularly think this is a game worth playing, but you should especially make an effort to avoid the PSVR version. Just stay in the shade where it’s cool.

  • Arizona Sunshine has an intriguing premise and enough customizations with the control scheme to warrant a play through if you have a PS VR. Just be aware, this has not been optimized very well from the PC versions, being held back by the restrictions from the inferior tech of PS VR.

  • If you are a zombie fan you’re going to absolutely love Arizona Sunshine. The campaign is badass, the sound effects and music are amazing, and the multiplayer modes will keep you busy for a long time. The game does have its quirks though. The zombie visuals are lacking and the constant wobble of the gun can get annoying, but the wobble is something that most owners of Sony’s headset just have to accept. If you’re a zombie fan that just so happens to own a PlayStation VR headset, I highly recommend you give Arizona Sunshine your attention.

  • Vertigo Games proved that even in the most saturated genre we’ve seen for VR games this year — shooters with zombies — there was still room for something fresh. Arizona Sunshine combines the narrative power of a fully-featured 4+ hour campaign mode, with the intensity of a wave-based horde mode, and then adds multiplayer to both experiences. The protagonist’s witty humor make it worth recommending on his charming personality alone, with enough depth and variety to keep people coming back for several hours.

  • Arizona Sunshine is a good game, but doesn’t hit the great status it could have had by being an earlier PSVR release. I have to commend the developers for putting a lot of hard work into making every control scheme feel good. It’s nice to not feel like you have to own an extra peripheral to play, but to be rewarded if you do.

  • Like a lot of full-VR adventures out currently, the central campaign is fairly short, but extra modes in the form of a zombie-rush horde and co-op multiplayer options help expand the game’s lifespan. Arizona Sunshine brings clear blue skies and a breath of fresh air to the zombie genre, and while it’s not a revolution, the game shows there’s still a little life left in blasting an undead horde into a splattery mess.

  • While we wouldn't say that Arizona Sunshine is just a VR demo or a tech experiment, it's not far from it, and as it stands now it's a far cry from being the full-blown high-quality virtual reality game we're hoping to see more of on the platform.

  • Arizona Sunshine proves the viability of VR as a gaming platform, and shows what can be achieved when VR developers get access to higher budgets.

  • An interesting technical experiment, but serious control issues and a lack of variety result in an only intermittingly enjoyable VR shooter.A spirited attempt to evolve the first person shooter in VR, with a great sense of physicality to the action and enemies. Lots of co-op options. All of the control systems have serious drawbacks. Simplistic and repetitive gameplay. Far too expensive.
