  • It’s not all bad though. If you enjoy anti-gravity racers, Antigraviator does do some things well. The lengthy campaign means there’s plenty of content, its environments are well-designed, and the pure speed generated from the Gravs is unreal. But that overwhelming speed with no real feeling of weight means courses aren’t always particularly fun to race around.

  • Overall Antigraviator is a nice, smooth experience of high speed, futuristic racing. I wish it had a few more tracks as even with reverse and mirror modes it’s really only 18 courses, which would have been fine 20 years ago, but I believe players expect more in this day and age. Another thing on my wish list would have been some kind of combat element with limited ammo per lap.

  • Antigraviator is a fine futuristic racing game that might fill in a momentary gap while we wait for the eventual release of Pacer. This is a game that’s best enjoyed on an Xbox One, not because it plays better on that console, but because it’s where it faces the least competition. Since the PS4 has the Wipeout Omega Collection and the Switch has Fast RMX, Antigraviator is your best bet if you’re looking for a similar kind of racing game on your Xbox. Just don’t think this is the next Wipeout or F-Zero.

  • Online is unfortunately a ghost town, but you can at least play locally with two-player split screen. The game runs relatively well, even if the visuals are rough around the edges. The game ends up feeling uninspired, and probably won't hold your attention for long, no matter how quickly you hurtle around its twisting tracks. With WipEout Omega Collection and other superior contemporaries available, it's very difficult to recommend this.

  • The game is visually appealing and offers you the ability to just pick up and play without much need for overly complicated things. Antigraviator offers a nostalgic gameplay with updating graphics and keeps to what games should be, Good Old Fashioned fun.

  • None of these complaints are condemning, mind you. There is certainly enough great stuff in this game to make Antigraviator worth buying. There is a healthy number of tracks that will take hours to master, cool Gravs and parts to unlock, and it’s a joy to look at and listen to while you do it. But with a little polish and workshopping, Antigraviator could have gone from really good, to really great.

  • When it comes to anti-gravity racing games on PC, there really aren’t that many that could possibly match the level of games such as Wipeout and F-Zero. Antigraviator is enjoyable in short bursts, though that soon wears off once you’ve put enough time in. Sadly, that amount of time is roughly an hour or so before you start to realize the game is very one-dimensional.

  • Antigraviator feels great to play and has a style that will be familiar to players of F-Zero and Wipeout, but its attempts to differentiate itself like the trap mechanic don't add much to the overall package. It does, however, hit the mark where it counts.

  • More Gravs to choose from and more parts to unlock would undoubtedly give the game a longer lifespan. It is enjoyable to play but doesn’t really venture outside of what has been done before, and the lack of cosmetics makes me worry that they kind of… ran out of ideas. But you can expect to enjoy Antigraviator for the rush of adrenaline alone.

  • If you can handle speed then Antigraviator really delivers. A fast and fun racer.

About the game

In the year 2210, racing has evolved far beyond its expected limits. New terraforming capabilities paired with scientific breakthroughs in the field of antigravity have given birth to a new spectacle: the Antigraviator tournament. In Antigraviator, players will race on exquisitely detailed stages, full of light-speed danger, chaos and mayhem. Gamers will guide their Grav in three gameplay modes across four different worlds with three tracks each. These dynamic courses come to life, while pushing the power of Unity to the limit.
