- Animal Crossing New Horizons is the best game that could have launched during this pandemic being so family friendly and compelling to all ages and personalities. Nintendo have delivered a jam packed adventure that is for the most fanatical player or someone who is new to this colorful series. Where Nintendo still have work to do is in the record keeping and planting side of the game while also letting the player learn more of their experience in the game itself.
Kelley · May 05, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - If you’ve played Animal Crossing, you mostly know what you’re getting into already. That being said, the big changes that were made to the game has made New Horizons a nice experience and would easily explain my one hundred fifty hours in the game already. Which is nothing compared to some people.
Aaron Price · Apr 20, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Animal Crossing: New Horizons is easily the most personal and customizable game in the franchise. The introduction of crafting adds a fun new layer of obtaining new items, even if it means tools don't last forever anymore. For those looking for a more relaxed game that rewards you the more time you put into it, I couldn't think of a better title jump into and unwind, especially given the worldwide pandemic.
Cade Onder · Apr 11, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - As much as I love Animal Crossing, I suppose I expected just a lot more than what we’ve seen in New Leaf and Pocket Camp. I would even throw my hands up in elation if Gyroids made their triumphant return as audible and visual furniture once again. Despite some of these minor misgivings, and lost opportunities in my estimation, Animal Crossing: New Horizons delivers on an island building simulation that will not disappoint. If you’re headed to the island, say “Hi” to Nook for me.
Steven Weber · Apr 10, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - New Horizons is a great continuation of an already fantastic series of games, and paying back Tom Nook’s loan has never been so fun.
Megan Walton · Apr 10, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It’s difficult to separate a piece of art or entertainment from the time in which it is created. Animal Crossing: New Horizons was surely developed over the previous years with one goal in mind: delivering joy to players around the world. Given the current circumstances, that goal has become more important than ever.
Kyle Hanson · Apr 08, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - So if one thinks that collecting things, filling up a museum, and talking to cute animals isn't their cup of tea, chances are Animal Crossing: New Horizons won't be for them. But given the huge demand for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Nintendo Switch consoles since its release, it's clear that New Horizons still has a large audience eager for just that kind of gameplay.
Sarah Fields · Apr 05, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - New Horizons nails this feeling more than ever, with so many options and lots of things to collect and enjoy. While it’s easy to play in short bursts, it’s often hard to stop playing when ideas keep coming and experimentation is so much fun when there’s little to no consequences. New Horizons is by far the best Animal Crossing and anyone looking for a way to relax or get creative should not miss out.
Kirstin Swalley · Apr 05, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - New Horizons has a slower pace even than other Animal Crossing games, and at times, that can feel unnecessarily restrictive. But there's still plenty to do, and each of those activities feeds into the next brilliantly for a rewarding and relentlessly cheerful experience. New Horizons certainly came at the right time, and its strengths are particularly comforting right now. I'm as excited to see what random events await me each morning as I am glad to have it during hard times, and that's sure to keep me coming back for the foreseeable future.
Kallie Plagge · Apr 04, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - With its numerous quality-of-life improvements and additions, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a big step forward for the series and found its perfect destination on the Switch. Especially given the current circumstances that we’re all facing right now in the world, it may have been unintentional that such a peaceful, idyllic game would arrive in the midst of so much fear, uncertainty, and stress. But thankfully, it’s nice to have a small, peaceful little place to escape to right now, and I can’t wait to keep coming back to it when I need it most.
