  For the new ideas, I’ve been left slightly disappointed with Ancient Phantasma. The control system is a throwback to the bad old days, and the sheer amount of random encounters fast starts to grate. Other than these complaints, it is very much business as usual, but sadly even the new features won’t be enough to keep you playing long term. Ancient Phantasma is not one of the better KEMCO games, I’m afraid.

  Ancient Phantasma is one of the most authentic retro RPGs that I've played in recent years and it's quite a satisfying adventure with its distinct combat that features many cohesive elements. I definitely recommend it to any fan of old-school RPGs.
