Alien: Blackout successfully follows the Five Nights at Freddy’s formula with an authentic Alien style, complete with surprisingly well-done voice acting and xenomorph animations when things go wrong. However, once you’ve learned the ropes and figured out how to exploit the alien’s AI it becomes much less interesting, and there’s no reason to revisit it.

  • Alien: Blackout takes the Five Nights at Freddy's formula and improves on it with more straightforward mechanics and a lot more strategy.

  • Honestly, I was a bit skeptic when this game was announced. I don’t mind mobile games, but sometimes developers don’t make the difference and the game can easily fail to fulfill the expectations. However, in this case, developers knew what they were doing and did it in the best possible way that was respectful to the Alien franchise and its fans.

  • It’s crazy to think that a mobile game in 2019 would live up to a PC/Console game’s legacy, but I really believe that Alien: Blackout does. It may not have been the sequel I wanted, but that didn’t stop me from it being a sequel I enjoyed.

  • Alien: Blackout is both too familiar and too inconsistent to successfully capture the spirit of what made Alien so good. Ultimately, this game feels like an expensive-looking Five Nights at Freddy’s with a Xenomorph that can’t decide whether it wants to be a preternatural stalker or meandering doofus. You can have moments spine-tingly suspense with Alien: Blackout, but a lot of the time they’re undercut by random mishaps.

  • Blackout is a solid mobile game and a perfectly acceptable use of the license, but now we're done with it we're back to wanting Isolation 2 once again.

  • Overall Alien: Blackout is a well-intentioned mobile game on which a considerable amount of money and effort has clearly been spent. It’s repetitive and not very nuanced, and probably a few pounds too expensive (although there are no microtransactions), but we’ve certainly played far worse Alien games in our time, consoles or not.

  • Alien Blackout is fun for a while, but ends suddenly and with little fanfare. Not essential, but fun for alien fans.

  • A tired, lackluster, and watered-down riff on the Alien series that finds players swapping from camera to camera guiding crew members through a xenomorph-ravaged space station.

  • Un juego divertido, absorbente y muy terrorífico cuando quiere. Su ambientación rinde tributo a la saga de películas de forma impecable, pero la campaña es muy corta y su atractivo se desvanece pronto.
