    Air Conflicts: Vietnam a terribly executed arcade flight game. Though it gets the fundamentals of flying right, and aircraft are reasonably well represented, the tiny combat areas, repetitive mission design, and generation-before-last terrain graphics are a gaming quagmire from which I cannot withdraw quickly enough.

    Please don’t consider this me saying the game is awful, because it’s not. It’s boring game design and ten year old mechanics can sometimes cause you to pull your hair out, but somewhere deep inside there is a good game trying to get out and you might find some fun like I did. Especially if you have a secret burning love for Vietnam games.

    There is little to endear this Vietnam air adventure above and beyond its competition. While setting out to achieve a fine balance between simulation and arcade, the game manages to land somewhere off the mark, skidding to a halt and ultimately pleasing no one. It can have moments of excitement and every so often it does show glimpses of superiority, but they are far too few to make this one worthy of much attention. Average to a fault.

    Das Flugmodell ist extrem simpel und die Steuerung gleichzeitig zu einfach und zu umständlich belegt. Die Kulisse ist auf dem PC unterer Durchschnitt und auf der 360 hässlich. Diese wird nur von der gruseligen PS3-Version unterboten, bei der zuweilen ganze Animationen fehlen. Dazu gesellt sich eine mies inszenierte Story, dröges Missionsdesign, eine miserable Freund-KI sowie ein überflüssiger Mehrspieler-Modus.
