- Action Henk is very easy to pick up and play with levels being extremely fast-paced. This is a game where you have to pay attention because every second counts if you want to go for the gold and get your name on the leaderboard. While the visual style might not be that appealing, this is a game that gets more things right than wrong. Controls are tight, there is some decent replay value, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously which makes for a pretty fun time.
Mary Gushie · Mar 11, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It’s hard not to draw comparisons to Joe Danger when talking about Action Henk; the influence in both gameplay and design is there for all to see. But Action Henk falls short in too many ways, allowing Joe to speed off in to the sunset, leaving Henk in his dust.
John Whitehouse · Mar 07, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - A fun, familiar experience, Action Henk is a lovely little one-more-go arcade racer that’ll have you attempting levels over and over to shave a few milliseconds off your time. You’ve done it all before, but that won’t stop it putting a smile on your face.
Lee Bradley · Mar 07, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It isn't going to win any awards for visuals – despite looking good enough to get the job done – and we'd like to have seen the comedy brand placement from the initial playroom area be used more in the levels themselves. With that said, neither of these things is going to interrupt your entertainment and the enjoyment and exquisite frustration that the game provides is more than enough for it to get our recommendation. Good stuff.
Ken Barnes · Mar 03, 2016 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - It's easy to like Action Henk. It does all the basic stuff well: simple to pick up, hard to master, fun, fast, colourful. Yet it feels like a fleeting interest. Like when I got diabolo (Google it) as a child. I thought it was brilliant, but soon grew bored of it and went back to playing Sonic on the Master System.
Tom Orry · Mar 03, 2016 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - I sound very down on Action Henk, which saddens me because I did enjoy playing through the single-player, racking up Gold Medals and zooming around loops. If you live by the motto 'gotta go fast!' like I do, you will find enjoyment here. But I'm obliged to tell you that all of the best features of Action Henk have been done better elsewhere.
Justin Towell · Mar 03, 2016 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Completing Action Henk will set you back around five hours or so, and you will be at the edge of your seat for most of that time. The speed is immensely satisfying, and earning those precious gold medals after replaying levels feels good. It’s a heart-pumping adventure starring action figures and toy tracks, so give yourself a break and come play.
Cameron Woolsey · May 14, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Besides racing against AI and player ghosts, there's also a separate multiplayer mode complete with a chat room. Here, you're competing against other people in real time. You can redo the course as often as you'd like until you're satisfied with your score or the clock runs out. While it's the same old levels from single-player, there's a greater sense of urgency and competition.
Jordan Devore · May 13, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Action Henk is easily one of the best speed-runners in years. The simple controls make its wealth of technique easily accessible and the sheer variety of challenges in its course layout makes each level a blast to learn and perfect. ...Getting good, learning the level flow and putting it all together in a lightning-fast run, on the other hand, takes a little practice, but the reward is a feeling of earned skill in a perfect execution that looked wonderfully effortless.
James Cunningham · May 12, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Action Henk is a fun romp, but ultimately it doesn't have quite enough variety to keep it interesting. Online play seems to be non-existent as this uses Xbox Live purely to promote the leaderboards - although it may have elevated the game a little. Despite the lack of an online mode, the local multiplayer is good for a laugh during a party, with a healthy selection of characters and fast-paced competitive gameplay. Overall, this is fun and well made, and, therefore, those who decide to purchase it will definitely feel fulfilled.
