  • 1000xRESIST is a difficult game to review. It’s part visual novel, part sci-fi adventure, and all kinds of weird. It might not be for everyone, but it’s an

  • Still, the Switch port did little to quell my enjoyment of this game. 1000xResist is truly a singular experience, and since completing it, my appreciation for its world and characters has only intensified. A recurring line in the game that I think about often has characters reflect on the idea that "there is a you that remains and remains," whether in your offspring or clones, your impact on the world, or simply within memories. While I hope 1000xResist will inspire sequels, successors, or copycats, it certainly exists as a bright memory in my mind. A story that remains, and remains, and remains.

  • 1000xRESIST is a deep, evocative narrative game that blends elements of visual novels with the sci-fi exploration genre. With complex story building, atmospheric design, and strong thematic focuses on identity and survival, this title is one that I would recommend everyone experience.

  • It won’t change the mind of anyone who doesn’t care for narrative-focused gaming experiences, but I really do think this is going to be a special game for a lot of people. It speaks in a mature way that is extremely rare in a medium not known for its tact, and the team at Sunset Visitor should be proud of their work.

  • 1000xResist is a revolution in storytelling, creating its own complex and rich fiction that’s beautifully written and spectacularly visualized. By expertly weaving genuine intimate moments with a sharp political identity, it makes its statements with a confidence that leaves an everlasting impact.

  • 1000xRESISTgrabs players and does not let go, taking them through some impressive story moments and a few overly long conversations. The mix of post-apocalypse, clones, and memory exploration powers a narrative that’s unlike any other in the video game world. Speak with everyone and touch everything to get the most out of this universe. Unfortunately, gamers will have to deal with some annoying gameplay to experience the entire story. The platforming is the worst offender but none of this feels fun. The presentation also fails to consistently impress. 1000XRESIST is a showcase for what video games can deliver when it comes to emotion, held back by its gameplay.

  • 1000xResist is provocative in such a way that its characters, events, and lore keep tickling your brain and urging you to continue. You may put the game down for a moment, intending to do something like eat or sleep, but you won’t stop thinking about it. The themes, arguments, and history it suggests keep at you until you go back, pick up your controller, and continue Watcher’s investigation. Even then, when you uncover the truth and reach an ending, it doesn’t leave you. It pulls you back in for more. What did you maybe miss? What would you change? You need to return to the Orchard.

  • If you enjoy a good story that can make you laugh one minute, hold back tears the next, then audibly mumble “WTF?” right after that, do yourself a favor, and check out1000xRESIST. I’m incredibly impressed with Sunset Visitor’s ability to tell a story with its debut title. It’s one that will stick with me for a while, and I’ve already caught myself still thinking about it, despite having finished it a few days ago. I can’t wait to see what Sunset Visitor does next.
